Meet our incredible 2022 Team Superstars

Welcome to your latest company update, featuring all the happenings here at PenLife!

This month, we’re celebrating three of our young colleagues who we crowned the PenLife Team Superstars of 2022.

Each month, we run a peer-voted “employee of the month” scheme in which everyone in our team has the opportunity to nominate three PenLifers who have gone above and beyond in demonstrating our core values. The colleague with the most nominations wins a trophy and a giant bar of Dairy Milk.

The nominations are added up at the end of the year, and the three PenLifers with the most nominations are crowned PenLife Team Superstars of The Year!

We have five core values here at PenLife.

We do what we say, and we say what we mean. We believe that strong communication forms the foundation of all good relationships, and pride ourselves on being a straight-talking team that encourages honest interactions.

We strive for excellence to increase efficiency, improve the client experience, and build a world-class company whose reputation speaks for itself. Everyone in our team goes the extra mile to achieve this – we don’t believe in half measures.

  1. We are growing – as a company and as individuals

At PenLife, we constantly strive towards gaining and sharing knowledge to evolve and grow – we never stand still! As a company, we nurture the individual growth that helps us shine brighter collectively.

That means working with our younger team members to help further their careers, taking feedback from our clients and applying it, and setting goals to better our services each year.

  1. We are accountable

We focus on ownership, performance, and a can-do attitude to realise our vision together. Each team member takes accountability for their personal role in achieving our goals, whilst also focusing on the big picture.

  1. We work as a team and support each other

Every team member is an important cog in this well-oiled machine. Under our collaborative approach, we aim to be fair and believe we all win together.

Congratulations to George, Ben and Jack for winning the 2022 Team Superstar Awards

Here are this year’s winners, and a little about what made them stand out from the crowd in 2022.

George Huntington, Administrator

George joined us in 2020 to support our Administrative and Reception teams. He’s an essential part of our team, often taking client calls, sending letters of authorisation, and ensuring the office runs smoothly no matter what.

As one of our Team Superstars for 2022, George proved reliable, trustworthy, proactive, and an all-round pleasure to work with.

Here’s what some of our colleagues had to say about George’s exemplary work.

  • “He is absolutely brilliant on the phone with clients.”
  • “George stayed late on a Friday to help send some photos to the calendar company on time. He’s always so helpful!”
  • “He just gets his head down. He has such a conscientious approach to work.”

Ben Crockett, Administrator

After joining the PenLife team in 2018, Ben has come on leaps and bounds. From starting in a purely administrative role, Ben has since completed his Financial Planning Administration Apprenticeship. He’s now working towards becoming a Financial Planner, and has passed several of the relevant exams already!

Ben was voted a Team Superstar of 2022. Let’s see what the team had to say about working with him.

Jack Pitman, Apprentice Administrator

Last but not least, our third Team Superstar for 2022 was Jack, our Apprentice Administrator.

Jack is our most recent joiner of the three, coming into the PenLife fold in 2021 after he finished college. Since working with us, Jack has begun working his way through his financial planning exams – and with his exemplary work ethic, we are sure Jack will continue to progress through his career with great success.

Here’s why Jack stood out from the crowd as a Team Superstar, according to the PenLife team.

  • “For his dogged help on a case that went on for months and months. He was super quick at getting the last bits of research back to me, which was really helpful and hugely appreciated.”
  • “I’m impressed with the way he gets his head down. He’s always on hand to help others and is really growing into his role.”
  • “For his never-ending work ethic. It’s wonderful to see!”
