Helen Scurry

Finance & HR Team Leader

"The three things I love about my job are completing company MI & income reconciliation, problem solving & looking at new ways to report to the company as a whole."

Work

Helen has worked in finance for more than 30 years and has been part of the PenLife team since 2004. Her role spans both Finance and HR, making her an integral part of the running of the business.

Helen is responsible for managing the company’s finances, from reconciling income from clients and product providers to overseeing expenditure and financial reporting. She also looks after HR administration and oversees our office facilities, helping to ensure PenLifers have the support, resources and working environment they need. And, perhaps most importantly, Helen keeps the PenLife team well supplied with Yorkshire Tea!

Rest and play

Helen loves spending time with family and friends, particularly her two sons and grandsons. Both Helen’s sons are keen cricketers, and she loves nothing more than a sunny Saturday afternoon watching cricket with a nice glass of something fizzy!

Helen and her husband moved a bit further out of York a few years ago, and now enjoy lovely countryside walks, preferably by a lake or river so the family dog Sophie can take a dip.
