Carolyn Myers

Marketing Co-ordinator

"The three things I love about my job are working with a fantastic team who work so hard, are so supportive, always happy to help and who are great fun. The fact we never stand still. We are continually trying to improve in all areas of the business and that keeps things fresh and interesting. I love the variety the role brings, from the creative thinking, to the planning and the implementation. No one day is ever the same! "

Work

Carolyn joined PenLife in 2017. She’s responsible for the implementation of PenLife’s marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, media communications, event management, client care, and PenLife’s professional connection programme.

It’s the variety of the role that really excites Carolyn. She loves the fact that she can be organising an event for clients and connections one day, and writing a design brief for some marketing material the next!

Rest and play

Carolyn loves spending time with her boys, which entails talking football, hacking around the golf course, and cooking mounds of food. When she’s not being mum, Carolyn loves going to gigs and festivals – pretending she’s a student again!

Carolyn is always up for a new challenge, be it Tough Mudder, Three Peaks, a half marathon… or working her way through the gin menu at the local!

Carolyn in the spotlight

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Somewhere with my family near water, having a spot of brunch, a walk, and a swim.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

‘Uncertain Smile’ by The The.

The first album I bought was:

Into The Gap by The Thompson Twins.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Mary Poppins!

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Writing ‘to-do’ lists!

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Creme brulee – cracking through the caramel and diving into creamy custard.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

A sense of humour, a smile, and kindness.

My pet peeve is:

People who don’t pull their weight.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

A fire engine when I was six years old that moved and had a flashing light and siren.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Micky Flanagan (to entertain), Chris Martin (to sing), and James Martin (to cook).

The three small things that make my day better are:

Waking up to a sunny day, those rare moments when my husband, two sons and I are all in the same room together, and ticking things off my ‘to-do’ lists.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

Gone to New York, ran a marathon, or been to Glastonbury.
