Reviews and Ratings for Financial adviser Soyfur Rahman, York

Chartered Financial Planner

"The three things I love most about my job are engaging with clients, building long-term relationships with them, and understanding their needs. I also enjoy the feeling of knowing I’ve provided the best and most suitable advice for my clients."

Work

Soyfur has worked in financial services since 2003. He advises both personal and corporate clients, and specialises in Inheritance Tax, investments, and pension planning.

Soyfur gained his advisory experience with a number of well-known national IFA firms, which included advising company Directors, GPs and hospital consultants. He has also worked in a Private Banking and Wealth Management division of NatWest, advising high net worth clients on their financial planning needs.

Soyfur enjoys working at PenLife because he gets to work with people who really know their technical knowledge and really go above and beyond for their clients.

Rest and play

Soyfur loves all sports, but his particular favourite is football. He’s always keen to keep as fit as possible and coaches a junior football team on the weekends for a local youth club.

Soyfur loves to explore the great outdoors. His adventurous family enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time on long walks across the countryside and popular fells in the Lake District, discovering some breathtaking views of the natural landscape.

Soyfur in the spotlight

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Playing football, although not so much these days. I also like to watch Liverpool games when I can and enjoy a meal out with friends and family. And I must squeeze in taking my daughter out for a bike ride!

My favourite holiday destination is:

Somewhere I can enjoy natural sights and historical architecture, and end with some good food.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

Anything from the 90s.

The first album I bought was:

Only You, 112.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Superman. (My daughter’s choice!)

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Monopoly.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Something that’s not too sweet or rich. Sticky toffee pudding with custard would be perfect!

My pet peeve is:

Going shopping with my wife when she doesn’t know what she wants to buy.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

‘No 1 Dad’ keyring picked out by my children… which they asked me to pay for!

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela and Jurgen Klopp.

The three small things that make my day better are:

A nice cup of tea, no traffic to and from work, and Liverpool winning a football match.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

Go camping with the family (not glamping), learn to cook a variety of authentic Asian dishes, and experience the Nürburgring race track.
